Community in Tanzania

Transforming Communities

Clean Water. Better Lives.

Since 2014, we've been dedicated to providing clean water, sanitation, healthcare, and education to rural communities in North West Tanzania.

Our Foundation

Our Story

The Eleanor Foundation was founded in August 2012 in memory of Eleanor Carey, who tragically died at the age of 22 while cycling in London in December 2011. Eleanor was studying International Development at London Metropolitan University and had a deep commitment to sustainable development.

To honour her legacy, her family and friends created the Foundation to continue the work Ellie believed in so strongly. Since early 2014, we've been active in North West Tanzania, helping rural communities in the Chato and Biharamulo Districts.

At the heart of everything we do is a belief in partnership and empowerment. By improving access to basic needs like clean water, sanitation, hygiene and health services, we're helping communities take the lead in creating lasting, positive change.
